September 13: Allochthonous, a real threat

Due to unfavorable weather forecasts, the "Alloctone, a concrete threat" event scheduled for 30 August is postponed to 13 September.

The alien and invasive plant species that populate the Friuli Venezia Giulia region represent a threat to biodiversity, with impact on human health and socio-economic consequences. But what are the routes through which these plants came to us and what makes them so dangerous? And which of our wild plants represent a threat to other continents?

Appointment on Sunday 13 September at 10.30 at the Carsiana Botanical Garden to deepen this interesting and very important topic.
For the occasion, the booklet published by the FVG Region, ERSA and the Naturalistic Educational Center of Basovizza will be distributed free of charge to all participants: "Invasive exotic plant species in FVG - Recognition and possible containment measures".

At the end of the walk, we also offer a practical part on the use of the most common and valid smartphone applications that can help us determine the species, spontaneous and alien, that we encounter during our walks.

In compliance with the regulations relating to the COVID-19 emergency, the event is organized with a limited number. Participation is only possible by reservation.
