June 27: Invasive alien species

The invasive alien plant species present in Friuli Venezia Giulia are, as happens in the rest of the world, one of the main causes of loss of biodiversity.

But what are the processes by which a species becomes invasive and what damage does it cause? Are we alone in Europe to suffer the invasions or do our wild plants also represent a threat in other continents? To understand the globality of the phenomenon and to find out with which strategy the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia intends to contribute to countering it, an appointment on Sunday 27 June at 10.30 at the Carsiana Botanical Garden to deepen this urgent and important topic that also threatens our well-being, with Marco Valecic, officer of the Biodiversity Service.
