April 15: The karst landscape between past and future

April 15: The karst landscape between past and future

The appearance of the Karst has changed a lot in the last few centuries. The first photos show it barren, but today the vegetation advances and is slowly covering the open areas not grazed. This process is called ecological succession and can provide us with interesting insights to understand in which direction the Karst environments are evolving.

To get to know and try to predict what this area might look like in the eyes of future generations, we invite you to take a guided tour in the company of the botanical naturalist Pierpaolo Merluzzi.
